SIGMA-stl

Today the necessary information for the calculation of a part (information about the part and ideally about the runner, inserts, tool, and thermal control) is readily available as volume oriented CAD data. This data can be imported into SIGMASOFT® as .stl files.

The smooth importing process and the widely accepted use of this format are reasons for the use of .stl as interface for CAD programs.

If the geometry only contains the part, SIGMASOFT® Preprocessor allows you to easily create a gating system as well as a simple mould; optionally you can also create a system for thermal control (where it does not matter if you use water, oil, or electricity for thermal control).

CAD geometries created with the SIGMASOFT® Preprocessor can also be exported in stl format.

With minimal effort, SIGMASOFT® generates a mesh for all geometries that are used for the subsequent simulation. Later, during evaluation, it is also possible to export e.g. a warped geometry as .stl.
